RBC Moi is a loyalty program that allows customers to earn Moi points for purchases at Metro, Food Basics, and other stores.
There’s a new rewards game in town, which may be perfect for you – depending on where you do most of your grocery shopping. So, let’s dig into the Programme Moi (or Moi Rewards as it's known outside Quebec) – which, as you might know, means “me” in French. Which leads us to believe this program is all about me.
Or, you, I guess.

What is the Moi rewards program?
The Moi program is a proprietary loyalty program launched by METRO Inc. in partnership with RBC. Moi Rewards lets you earn points on everyday essentials at participating stores like Metro, Food Basics, Jean Coutu, Super C, Brunet, and Première Moisson. It also provides you with customized coupons and offers tailored to your unique shopping habits, which you can use for groceries, beauty products and health products.
Moi launched in Quebec and New Brunswick in late 2024, but as of January 2025 the program now extends into Ontario.

How do I earn Moi points?
You’ll earn one point for every dollar spent and a $4 reward for every 500 points earned. You can redeem points whenever you like, spending them on your favourite products in-store.
- Shop and earn: Start accumulating points at a base rate of 1 point per $3 spent at participating locations, including Metro, Food Basics, Super C, Jean Coutu, Brunet, and Première Moisson
- Boost your earnings: Link an eligible RBC credit card or debit card account to your Moi account. This allows you to earn additional points (discussed below)
New users will earn 250 points as a welcome bonus, which can be uploaded to your Moi card and will be given upon enrollment. As an extra cherry on top, you can also earn 10,000 bonus points if you also sign up for a Moi RBC Visa card – more on that below.

As noted, the basic earning rate is 1 point for every $3 spent, but here's where it gets exciting: link your eligible RBC debit or credit card to your Moi account, and you'll snag an extra point for every $2 spent (minimum purchase required, but we'll get to that in a sec).
Here's how to link your RBC card to Moi rewards:
- 1.
Log on to your RBC Online Banking account
- 2.
Enter your RBC Moi
- 3.
Link your Moi rewards account with your eligible RBC debit card
Moi top tip: Check coupons before you shop
Make it a habit to check your app before each shopping trip. New deals pop up regularly, and you don't want to miss out on extra savings.
What are Moi points worth?
Moi points aren't the most lucrative currency in loyalty rewards, with each Moi point is worth about 0.8 cents. This means that 500 Moi points = $4 in rewards value
Do Moi points expire?
No, RBC Moi points do not expire.
How do I redeem Moi points?
Points can be redeemed any time at checkout at nearly 900 Metro, Super C, Brunet and Première Moisson stores in Quebec and Jean Coutu stores in Quebec, Ontario and New Brunswick.
Additional benefits of the Moi rewards program
The moi reward program isn’t all about earning points on purchases. You’ll also get personalized coupons and weekly offers to earn additional points.
Want to supercharge your savings with Moi Rewards? Here's how to get and use those valuable Moi coupons:
- Download and scan: Get the My Metro or Food Basics app on your smartphone. The more you use it, the smarter it gets. It's like having a personal shopping assistant in your pocket!
- Personalized offers: Love Kettle Chips or swear by CeraVe skincare? The app learns your preferences and sends tailored coupons directly to your phone. It's savings that match your lifestyle.
- Easy setup: Link your Moi Rewards card to the app or on moirewards.ca. It's a one-time step that unlocks a world of savings.
- Redeem with ease: Browse "my coupons" in the app, add the ones you want, and scan your Moi Rewards card at checkout. It's that simple!

How does the Moi rewards program compare?
How does Moi stack up with other leading loyalty programs in Canada?
The PC Optimum rewards program may be Canada's most popular retailer-specific program. It’s used by Loblaws companies, including Loblaws, No Frills and Shoppers Drug Mart.
Like Moi, customers earn points when shopping at those stores and can redeem those points directly at checkout. It also provides personalized offers based on your shopping habits. In addition to those regular purchases, you can also earn points through special offers at other stores, including Loblaws, Joe Fresh, No Frills, Real Canadian Superstore, Valu-Mart and several others.

Another popular rewards program, Scene members earn one point for every $2 spent on participating grocery stores, including Sobeys, Safeway, Foodland, FreshCo. and IGA.
They also earn five points for every dollar spent at Cineplex; three points for every dollar spent at Expedia; 50 points for every $50 spent at Home Hardware; one point for every $3 spent at Harvey’s, Swiss Chalet, East Side Mario’s, Montana’s BBQ & Bar, Bier Market and Kelsey’s Original Roadhouse; and one point for every $1 spent at The Rec Room and Playdium.
That’s a lot of options to rack up points. Unlike the Moi program, which only allows points redemption in participating stores, Scene points can be redeemed at participating grocery stores, at movie theatres and for various travel, shopping and entertainment options.
